Send a message to your MLA: Don't forget about casino workers

When COVID first hit about a year ago, workers at Casinos in British Columbia were told to go home and not report back to work.

Like many workers in other industries that rely on in-person interactions they have been particularly hard hit by the pandemic.

Now, with vaccines rolling out across the province, and government getting ready to make plans for an economic recovery and re-opening it is critical that politicians do not forget about workers.

If enough of us send messages to our MLA's then we can make sure that this item is at the top of the agenda when the legislature is in session this spring.

It's best if you write your own message, with a focus on your own story, but the main things to mention are:

  • Where you live.
  • What union you are with (if you're a worker)
  • How long you've been out of work.
  • Any personal stories about the year you've been out of work
  • A request for follow up from your MLA
